CONDITION:
A striking 70-year-old original Australian cinema poster with strong, vibrant colour and excellent overall visual presentation for its age.
The poster remains in its original folded format. Original fold lines are present with general fold and handling wear. There is a small tear/separation with minor paper loss along the horizontal fold, together with several small pin/staple holes.
There is additional edge and corner wear, small tears/creases and general age-related marks. The reverse shows old tape/tape residue, handwritten markings and general storage wear consistent with its age and previous use.
The poster remains complete with strong colour and displays very well. Please refer closely to the detailed photographs, including the close-up of the most noticeable fold damage, when assessing condition.
As this poster has remained folded and has not been rolled for storage, it will be carefully shipped folded along its existing original fold lines rather than being rolled.

Original Australian cinema one-sheet for The Lone Ranger (1956), starring Clayton Moore as The Lone Ranger and Jay Silverheels as Tonto.
Now 70 years old, this is an original surviving piece of Australian cinema advertising from the films 1956 theatrical release.
AUSTRALIAN RELEASE
This is the distinctive Australian version of The Lone Ranger one-sheet, carrying the Australian FOR GENERAL EXHIBITION classification triangle and featuring artwork different from the US one-sheet design.
The Australian artwork is particularly striking. A brilliant red background dominates the poster, with the masked Lone Ranger charging forward on Silver and Tonto riding immediately behind. The enormous hand-rendered THE LONE RANGER title cuts across the centre, while a smaller action scene below adds another burst of movement.
Across the top, the blue banner declares:
HARD-RIDING HERO OF A THOUSAND PERIL-PACKED EXPLOITS!
It is classic 1950s movie advertising bold colour, painted action artwork, oversized hand-rendered lettering and dramatic promotional copy designed to grab attention outside a cinema. Long before photographic and digitally produced movie posters became the norm, artwork like this was created to sell the excitement and spectacle of the film at a glance.
More than seven decades later, that original advertising artwork remains remarkably effective. The saturated red, blue and yellow palette gives the poster a tremendous visual presence and makes it an impressive display piece from the golden age of the theatrical Western.
