Secure pickup – how it works

A protected in-person handover. Nobody hands a stranger cash, or an item on a promise.

Pay here first
Tap Buy now and pay online – the price plus a 3.5% buyer protection fee. Gettit holds your payment securely; the seller is not paid yet.
Get your 6-digit code
The moment you pay, your order shows a 6-digit handover code. Keep it to yourself until you have the item.
Meet and check the item
Arrange a time and place with the seller in chat, then look the item over in person.
Happy? Hand over the code
Give the seller your code and your payment is released to them. No code, no payment – the seller is only paid once you have the item.

The seller still receives the full asking price – the protection fee is how Gettit keeps your payment safe until you are holding the item. .
