Vintage New Zealand KORU SPIRAL Art Glass Bottle Stopper (Boxed)

Description: a traditional New Zealand Koru Spiral hand made from heavyweight art glass in a clear, green and blue colourway. This sits on a chromed metal cone with an inserted black rubber ribbed band. Included is the satin-lined custom made box, and a small card with the meaning of the item printed on both sides. No branding visible, although on the underside of the box is a barcode sticker and (one assumes) an "11" product code on small round yellow dot.

The combination of clear, blue, and green glass is a classic "Kiwiana" palette designed to evoke the natural coastal and rainforest landscapes of New Zealand (resembling the iridescent shades of native paua shell or pounamu greenstone).

Approximate dimensions (stopper): 130mm (5.1") long, 40mm wide (at widest part of the spiral), weighs 56g.Approximate dimensions (box): 155mm (6.1") long, 65mm wide, 38mm high, weighs 33g.Approximate dimensions (card): 90mm x 55mm, weighs less than 2g.

Total weight = 91g (unpacked).

Condition (stopper): no chips, no cracks, one short shallow scratch on one side of the inner turn. Some manufacturing flaws: pocks, bubbles and a patch of wavy surface (not rough). The glue holding the stopper to the cone is full of tiny bubbles, and is possibly starting to age as there is a definite yellow tint to it. The very smooth & shiny chrome cone is pristine with only minuscle manufacturing marks. The black rubber ribbing is intact. Please refer to photos for details.

Condition (box): matte black heavy card, clear acetate cover, off-white (aged?) satin lining over a foam cutout. Everything is intact, in very good condition and functions as it should. The clear cover is very well adhered to the inside of the box top (may have been re-glued at some point in the past). The satin lining is clean. The underlying foam cutout and base is whole. Condition (card): pristine. No rips, creases or loss of colour.
