Connector

Connect Gettit to your assistant

Let ChatGPT, Claude or another AI assistant search second-hand items for sale on Gettit, the Australian marketplace, while you chat.

The connector address

https://api.gettit.com.au/api/v1/public/mcp

It is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. No account or sign-in is needed.

How to add it

  • Claude: open Settings, then Connectors, add a custom connector and paste the address above.
  • ChatGPT: turn on developer mode in Settings, add a new connector and paste the address above.
  • Perplexity and other tools: add a remote MCP server with the address above. It uses the Streamable HTTP transport.
  • Gemini: connecting your own MCP servers is currently limited to some regions and developer tools.

What it can do

  • search_listings finds items for sale now by words, category, brand, model, condition, price, postcode and delivery.
  • get_listing shows one listing in full.
  • list_categories lists Gettit’s categories.
  • search and fetch are simple versions of the first two, for assistants that expect them.

It only reads listings. It cannot buy anything, make an offer, message a seller or change anything. To buy, open the listing link your assistant gives you: it opens on Gettit’s website, or in the Gettit app if you have it.

Privacy

Only listings that are for sale right now are shared, with the general area (suburb and postcode) the listing page already shows. No street address, no exact location and nothing about the seller is shared.

For developers

The same data is available as a read-only web API, described in OpenAPI 3.1 at https://api.gettit.com.au/api/v1/public/openapi.json. Requests are rate limited per caller.
